So I've been trying to figure out what tattoo I want to get. I knew I wanted to get a tat in the small of my back, black ink only or with just a little bit of color. If you read my previous post, I am tired of the marks on my body being something negative, I want something self-affirming and positive that says I AM worth something. So I've been looking for the right word or a picture or something and today I realized exactly what that was- a phoenix (or firebird). A beautiful bird that rises from it's own ashes- this is me. No matter what happens in my life, no matter how disastrous it seems, I can make it through it all. Now all I have to do is figure out how to draw...

Check it out, I get a free tat! My friend Corey is a tattoo artist at Mutiny and I helped him get some business and as an AWESOME reward, I get a free tat. He's been saying that for awhile and now he's offered me one. The only problem is that I don't know exactly what I want to get this time...

My first tat I knew exactly what I wanted. Same with the second. (For those of you who don't know, my first tat is a shooting star across my right hip bone and my second is a cross on my right shoulder blade.)

I have a number of ideas.
